🤔Repair shop gave me both Office LTSC and Windows 11 pro, for €85....

So basically my laptop bluescreened a couple months ago and when rebooting not running explorer, so, me being logical, brought it into my local repair shop, when they turned it on it was working fine, but it was running Windows 11 21H2 and i couldnt update it, so they suggested they just have a go trying an update, i said yes, and left the store.

A week later, I got a call from the store saying they could not update, and last solution was reset for €85, (I was guessing that the price was for the windows key) I said yes and a day later i had it back, OOBE already done and activated.. to Pro? I had home at the start, so they upgraded? for €10 less than normal price? Even then, it said it was 'activated by your organization's activation service' so they did something there.

They also preinstalled Google Chrome, and Office. When launching office, i noticed a Office LTSC in the corner so i checked and, they had activated Office, with an LTSC LICENSE.

I looked up the price of both an upgrade from Home to Pro, and how much Office LTSC costs, and came to the grand total of €543.40, €458.40 more than I paid. How is this possible? Why? The answer comes down to a certain song. Yes, PIRACY. According to the lovely u/froggypwns on reddit,

They took your money and installed stolen pirated software. The message regarding the activation with an organization's server confirms this.

I was not expecting that, I most certainly was not. I will not be telling my repair shop about that, Thank you for listening to my lovely tale. Blade0
